Call To Worship
Come and sing the praise of our wondrous God.
Awesome and marvellous are God’s works.
Come and celebrate God who refreshes us and brings us new life.
Awesome and marvellous are God’s works!
Be joyful and celebrate the goodness of God here and everywhere.
Awesome and marvellous are God’s works!
Come let us worship God and give thanks for our abundance in Christ’s love.
Amen.

Hymn:
VU 218 We Praise You, O God

We praise you, O God, our Redeemer, Creator;
in grateful devotion our tribute we bring.
We lay it before you; we kneel and adore you;
we bless your holy name, glad praises we sing.

We worship you, God of our mothers and fathers,
through trial and tempest, companion and guide.
When perils o’er take us, you will not forsake us,
But faithful to your promise, you walk by our side.

With voices united our praises we offer
and gladly our songs of thanksgiving we raise.
Our sins now confessing, we pray for your blessing,
to you, our great Redeemer, forever be praise!

Words: Julia Cory; Music: Netherlands melody; harmony: Edward Kremser

Opening Prayer
God of mystery and wonder, you are with us in times of glory and uncertainty, times of healing, and times of doubt. As we worship you this day, help us to remember that you are with us in all the twists and turns of our lives, the unexpected and the routine. Lead us to praise you and give you thanks in all times and places. We pray in the name of Christ Jesus, healer, and friend. Amen

THE STORY OF FAITH IS PROCLAIMED
Hutlilala’s!
Listen deeply as God’s Word is proclaimed!

Hebrew Scripture: Jeremiah 29:1, 4-7

Psalm 66 VU 784 Part 1 and 2

Refrain 2: God of all, to you we raise this our song of joyful praise.
Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth;
sing to the honour of God’s name; make glorious the praise of God.
How awesome are your deeds! So great is your strength, your foes wilt before you.
For all the world shall worship you, shall sing to you and praise your name.
R 2: God of all, to you we raise this our song of joyful praise.

O come and see what God has done, a work that is awesome to all earth’s children.
God turned the sea into dry land; they crossed the river on foot.
There we rejoiced in God, who rules in power forever.
whose eyes keep watch on the nations. Let not the rebellious lift up their heads.
R 2: God of all, to you we raise this our song of joyful praise.

Bless our God, all peoples, and let the sound of praise be heard.
God has preserved us among the living, and kept our feet from stumbling.
For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.
You led us into the desert, you laid a burden on our back.
you let sickness furrow our brow, we passed through fire and water;
but you brought us out to a land of plenty.
R 2: God of all, to you we raise this our song of joyful praise.

Epistle Philippians 4:4-9

Hymn:
VU 242 Let All Things Now Living

Let all things now living
a song of thanksgiving
to God our Creator triumphantly raise;
who fashioned and made us,
protected and stayed us,
by guiding us on to the end of our days.
God's banners are o'er us,
pure light goes before us,
a pillar of fire shining forth in the night;
till shadows have vanished
and darkness is banished,
as forward we travel from light into Light.

By law God enforces,
the stars in their courses
and sun in its orbit obediently shine;
the hills and the mountains,
the rivers and fountains,
the depths of the ocean proclaim God divine.
We, too should be voicing
our love and rejoicing;
with glad adoration a song let us raise:
till all things now living
unite in thanksgiving:
to God in the highest, hosanna and praise.

Words: Katherine K. Davis, alt. Music: Welsh folk melody; desc. Katherine K. Davis.

Gospel: Luke 17:11-19
Hear what the Spirit is saying to the church!
Thanks be to God

Sermon Reflection

Affirmation of Faith:
The New Creed VU 918

We are not alone,
we live in God's world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.

Offertory Hymn:
VU 412 This Is The Day

This is the day, this is the day
that our God has made, that our God has made;
we will rejoice, we will rejoice,
and be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day, that our God has made,
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day that our God has made.

Open to us, open to us
your gates, O God, your gates, O God;
we will go in, we will go in,
to your holy place, to your holy place.
Open to us your gates, O God,
we will go in to your holy place.
Open to us, open to us your gates, O God.

You are our God, you are our God,
we will praise your name, we will praise your name;
we will give thanks, we will give thanks,
for your faithfulness, for your faithfulness.
You are our God, we will praise your name,
we will give thanks for your faithfulness.
You are our God, you are our God, we will praise your name.

Words: (v. 1): unknown, (v 2 and 3) Gerald Hobbs 1987, 1995; Music: Fijian folk melody

Response:
VU 542 We Give You But Your Own

We give you but your own,
what e’er the gift may be;
all that we have is yours alone,
We give it gratefully.

Words: William Walsham How; Music: Johann Balthasar König; adapted William Henry Havergal.

Prayer over the Gifts

Prayers
Minute for Mission/ PWRDF
Our Common Prayers …

God, giver of all good,
you continually pour your benefits upon us.
Age after age the living wait upon you
And find that your faithfulness has no end,
that your care is unfailing.
We praise you that the mystery of life
is a mystery of infinite goodness.
We praise you
for the order and constancy of nature;
For the beauty and bounty of the earth;
for day and night, summer and winter,
seedtime and harvest;
For the varied gifts of loveliness which every season brings.
We give you thanks
For all the comfort and joy of life,
For our homes, for our friends,
And for all the love, sympathy, and goodwill of all people.

The Lord’s Prayer
And now as our Saviour has taught us let us say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and
ever. Amen.

The Peace
Good friends, as followers of Jesus, the new creation God intends is already at work in you.
Peace be with you.
And also with you

Hymn:
MV 209 Go, Make a Diff’rence

Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.
Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

We are the salt of the earth,
called to let the people see
the love of God in you and me.
We are the light of the world,
not to be hidden but be seen.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.
Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

We are the hands of Christ
reaching out to those in need,
the face of God for all to see.
We are the spirit of hope;
we are the voice of peace.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.
Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

So let your love shine on,
let it shine for all to see.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.
And the spirit of Christ
will be with us as we go.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.
Go make a diff'rence.
We can make a diff'rence.
Go make a diff'rence in the world.

Three-fold AMEN

Sending:
Go out into the world rejoicing in the Spirit, now and forever.
