Hi everyone,

First apologies for the delay in the October newsletter. There wasn't much info to send except the Sunday worship schedule. Note that the October 26 service is at 3 PM and the time change is November 1.

Each week the hymns for Sunday are posted on the specific Sunday event. Have a quick look and if you want to learn any of the hymns come a few minutes early on Sunday and we will sing through a couple of verses.

Over the next few weeks during Sunday announcement time members of your council will be speaking about their volunteer roles. Pamphlets will soon be arriving in the pews with info about our church. Council also wants to direct you to our website for all the news, events and general information about our church and also the page featuring our sister church St. John's Port Alice. Explore the website, we welcome your feeback. You can reply to this newsletter with feedback.

"As we grow older into the 'twilight' of life we encounter a kaleidoscope of feelings and experiences such as:  joy, peace, contentment, good health on the one hand, and sadness, grief, fear, poor health on the other. As people of faith how might we come to terms with growing older and how might we be those who 'age well' whatever our circumstances. 

Rev. Bob Gilbert is offering an opportunity to explore and discuss the journey of life in our later years.  We will meet five times, once weekly,  to engage in conversations that relate to 'Aging Well - Growing Old Faithfully'. To assist our discussions there will be online and print resources made available.

For St. Columba Church folk, we meet Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 to 3:00 pm, commencing October 14th. Please join us for a lively discussion.

For St. John's Church folk, they will be meeting Tuesday morning 10:30 to noon, also starting October 14th. Join Bob and others for great conversation.

All are welcome to join each week as you are able. We will not be meeting November 11.
