Share in a Thanksgiving feast at St. Columba's Port Hardy and celebrate community and all we have to be thankful for in our town. We've invited a number of folks in our neighbourhood. If you would like to join us please let us know using one of the options below. We’ll provide turkey, ham, potatoes, gravy, and drinks–as you are able you can bring a dish (side or dessert) to share that reminds you of home! Or make a monetary donation. We are setting up the hall starting at 10:30 AM on Monday morning, if you want to drop off your food donation (if appropriate) or lend a hand setting up the hall, please drop by.

Mark your calendar for Thanksgiving Monday, October 12. We’ll gather together starting at 4 PM in the lower hall of the church. We can’t wait for you to join us for a wonderful opportunity to share a delicious meal together and meet your neighbours. Note however our seating capacity is limited by the size of our hall.

Visioning Meeting

Visioning Meeting

Wednesday, October 14, 2026

Where is St. Columba's heading within it's Christian life and work? What would you like to see happening in the worship life of our church? Join us to work on plans for the church's future. We will be meeting periodically over the next few months to clarify our vision for St. Columba's here in Port Hardy. All are welcome.

The topic for October 14 is a discussion of the ideas from the Broadview small church webinars which some of us attended online.

Fall Book Study

Fall Book Study

Starting Tuesday, October 20, 2026 for 4 Weeks

Join us for our 4 week fall book study featuring “The Wisdom Jesus” by Cynthia Bourgeault.

As Christians we are called to follow Jesus, to live by his teachings and his example. Even more than that, we are to get to know him, to have a relationship with him, to trust him, and love him. This autumn Rev. Bob Gilbert is offering a book study that, he believes, is helpful in our quest to follow and know Jesus.

The book offers a new perspective on Christ. While not discounting other perspectives on Christ, the emphasis is on Christ as a teacher of ‘wisdom’. Rev. Bob will be guiding our discussion. Copies of the book have been ordered by those who let Bob know they will be joining the groups in Port Hardy and Port Alice. If you have decided to also join the group, please let Bob know and he will try and accomodate you. There will be about 35 pages to read each week, and the writing is described as engaging, and includes various prayer practices.

The St. John's Port Alice group will meet on Tuesday morning starting at 10:30 AM until noon.

The St. Columba's Port Hardy group will meet on Tuesday afternoon starting at 2:30 PM until 4 PM on October 20, and the next 3 weeks starting at 1:30 PM until 3 PM.
