Saying Goodbye to Rev. Wade Allen

On Sunday October 4 folks from the congregation in Port Alice joined with folks from St. Columba's for a joint service celebrating Rev. Wade Allen's time with us. His family and community members joined with us for both an uplifting church service and a wonderful potluck lunch.

In a quieter, more reflective service of Thanksgiving on Sunday October 11 Wade preached his last sermon encouraging us to walk in love and support each other and those in the community in which we live.

The service closed with the impromptu singing of one of Wade's favourite closing hymns by John Rice.

"Walk with me, I will walk with you and build a land that God has planned where love shines through."
