In the spring of 2024 we were pleased to be awarded a generous United Way Climate Resilient Communities: Food Infrastructure grant. We reported in July about the purchase of needed shelving. We have now purchased a commercial refridgerator for our kitchen downstairs. All those who work as either paid staff or as volunteers to supply food for our morning drop-in St. Columba Sanctuary program and our Sunday lunch program are happy to now have enough pantry and refridgerator space. We thank United Way British Columbia for this grant as well as providing a food and salary grant through their Food Hub spoke grant program operated locally by Mt. Waddington Food Hub a consortium of local food security organizations. For more on the United Way Food Infrustructure grants see here.
