THE COMMUNITY GATHERS BEFORE GOD
The grace of our Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
And also with you.
God is our light and our life:
O come, let us worship.

*Hymn: VU 228 Sing Praises to God

Sing praises to God! Sing praise in the height;
rejoice in God's word, blest angels of light;
high heavens, recalling by whom you were made,
come, offer your worship in brightness arrayed.

Sing praises to God! Sing praise upon earth,
in tuneful accord, you saints of new birth;
praise God, who has brought you rich grace from above,
and showered your life with abundance of love.

Sing praises to God! all things that give sound,
each jubilant chord re-echo around;
loud organs, your glory tell out in deep tone,
and trumpets, the story of what God has done.

Sing praises to God! Thanksgiving and song
be ever outpoured, all ages along:
for love in creation, for hope spread abroad,
for grace of salvation, sing praises to God.

Sharing the Peace:
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
And also with you.

Collect

THE STORY OF FAITH IS PROCLAIMED
Hutłilala's! Listen deeply as scripture is read the Word proclaimed.
Hebrew Scripture: Deuteronomy 34: 1-12

Psalm 90: 1-6, 13-17 VU 805
(Part One & Part Three)
Refrain: In every age, O God, you have been our refuge.
God, you have been our refuge in every generation. Before the mountains were brought forth, before earth and world were formed,
from age to age everlasting, you are God.
You turn frail humans back to dust, saying: “Return, you mortals.”
For a thousand years in your sight are as yesterday, a day that is past, a watch in the night.
You sweep them away like a dream, like grass that is fresh in the morning.
like grass which in the morning is green, but in the evening is dried up and withered.
R: In every age, O God, you have been our refuge.

Turn back, O God! How long? Have compassion on your servants.
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, as many years as we have suffered adversity.
Show your servants your work, and let their children see your glory.
Let the favour of our God be upon us, and prosper the work of our hands.
Prosper the work of our hands.
R: In every age, O God, you have been our refuge.

Epistle: 1 Thessalonians 2: 1-8

*Hymn: SGP 43 Love, Love, Love Your God

Love, love, love your God,
the commandment’s word is love;
love your neighbour as yourself, for
God is love.

And also with you!
The Holy Gospel of Jesus the Christ according to Matthew.
Glory to you Christ our Saviour.
*Gospel: Matthew 22: 34-46
The Gospel of Christ.
Praise to you Jesus the Christ.

Sermon Reflection

Affirmation of Faith:
Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul,
with all your mind, and with all your strength.
This is the first and the great commandment.
The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.
There is no commandment greater than these.

*Offertory Hymn: SNC 86 You are Holy, You are Whole

Part 1
You are holy, you are whole.
You are always ever more
than we ever understand.
You are always at hand.
Blessed are you coming near.
Blessed are you coming here
to your church in wine and bread,
raised from soil, raised from dead.

Part 2
You are holy,
you are wholeness,
you are present.
Let the cosmos praise you, Lord!
Sing hosanna
in the highest!
Sing hosanna!
Sing hosanna to our God!

Text and music: Per Harling

Prayers of the People

Minute for Mission/ PWRDF
One: . . . We pray to you God.

One: Kyrie Eleison. All: Kyrie Eleison.
Christe Eleison. Christe Eleison.

Kyrie Eleison. Kyrie Eleison.

(MV 67: Bridget Setting)

*The Lord’s Prayer: As our Saviour taught us, let us pray,

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

*Hymn: MV 138 My Love Colours Outside the Lines

My love colours outside the lines,
exploring paths that few could ever find;
and takes me into places where I’ve never been before,
and opens doors to worlds outside the lines.

My Lord colours outside the lines,
turns wounds to blessings, water into wine;
and takes me into places where I’ve never been before,
and opens doors to worlds outside the lines.

We’ll never walk on water if we’re not prepared to drown,
body and soul need a soaking from time to time.
And we’ll never move the gravestones if we’re not prepared to die,
and realize there are worlds outside the lines.

My soul longs to colour outside the lines,
tear back the curtains, sun, come in and shine;
I want to walk beyond the boundaries where I’ve never been before,
throw open doors to worlds outside the lines.

We’ll never walk on water if we’re not prepared to drown,
body and soul need a soaking from time to time.
And we’ll never move the gravestones if we’re not prepared to die,
and realize there are worlds outside the lines.

My soul longs to colour outside the lines,
tear back the curtains, sun, come in and shine;
I want to walk beyond the boundaries where I’ve never been before,
throw open doors to worlds outside the lines.

Words and music: Gordon Light.

The Blessing and Dismissal
May the God of mercy transform you by his grace, and the blessing of God almighty, the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, be among you and remain with you always. Amen.

Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.

May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks be to God. Gilakas’la

Three-fold Amen
